Independent Research Project Due: Next Friday December 11th
Over the last few weeks we have been exploring our topics through guided research.. Now is the time to begin building our projects!
Reminders: Citations
Cite all information that you pull from your sources as you write. To do this, use parenthetical citations and MLA or APA format. Parenthetical citations- at the end of a sentence in which you use a source place the name of that source (usually the author’s last name) in parentheses. Like this for MLA (Kain). Or, like this for APA (Kain 2015). Thesis and theses
Be sure your thesis is clear, engaging and covers all of your subtopics. Each subtopic should have a thesis of its own and these should support the projects main thesis. Annotated Bibliography
Return to the bibliography you constructed as we started the project. Update it with new sources you have uncovered and for each source include two sentences. In the first describe what the source is. In the second sentence describe how it helped you understand your topic or how it helped you in constructing your project. Remember- images will need to be cited as well. Basic formatting
Remember to use topic and supporting sentences.
Remember to have someone, other than yourself, proofread and review your project a few days before it is due so that you may make the necessary edits before turning it in.
